KLG Donate a Therapy Garden

Our MD Steve Evans drives past the hospital every day on his way to work and he felt the neglected space outside the unit could be transformed into a garden that could benefit patients during their stay.

“We create beautiful gardens and communal spaces every day for our clients. I felt it was time we gave something back to our local community and especially for people who are going through a difficult  period in their lives. It can happen to any of us.”

All manpower, plants and equipment used to create the gardens were donated free of charge by KLG to a design created by Richard Broome of Outerspace Landscape Architects of Teddington.

The garden was opened on 9th May 2018 by the Mayor of Runnymede, Councillor Iftikhar Chaudri, with introductions from Jonathan Warren, the Acting CEO of Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Most importantly is the hugely appreciative feedback we have received from some of the patients using the new garden facilties,

“Very beautiful and well presented. A real transformation from what it was before. It will be nice to have herbs to pick for the kitchen” – Person from Blake Ward
